We finally got the green light to go to Lebanon. Pak Lah in New York for UN General Assembly said the world body have agreed for the deployment of 360 troops, short of 700 that we had earlier proposed.
Any number is good enough I believe.
I just hope MINDEF will do away with the idea of sending our guys on board C-130 Hercules.
Yes, its cheaper on the short-term but a 747 could carry 360 troops on one flight and they will arrive in Beirut, 24 hours earlier than flying on the quad prop.
Beirut is now at peace. There is no need for tactical flying at the moment.
