SHAH ALAM: IN conjunction with its 46th anniversary, PDRM’s famed commando unit, VAT 69, will be holding an Open Day at the PGA Camp in Ulu Kinta, Perak, this 23rd and 24th October.
The Open Day starts on 23rd with several events scheduled at the camp’s main marching field at 3pm. The official anniversary celebration however will be held on 24th October starting from 9am to 6pm. Among others, VAT 69’s history and assets will be showcased during the day.
VAT 69 troopers will also be conducting shooting, parachuting and other skills demonstration at various times during the day (24th October). Various booths will also be set up to sell souvenirs and other items relating to the unit and other military memorabilia.
Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, I will not be able to cover the event.
More over, the event will be held at the most busiest time in October, from the scheduled presentation of the 2016 budget on the 23rd and the GPEC exhibition from the 21st to 23rd.
If any of you got the chance to go to Ulu Kinta for the Open Day and is willing to share the experience with the Malaysian Defence community, send me a report. I will definitely used it as a guest post.
