Beliau turut mengambil kesempatan untuk mengadakan sesi suai kenal dan taklimat ringkas bersama panglima-panglima perkhidmatan bagi mengetahui tentang perkembangan semasa pentadbiran pertahanan.
Turut hadir mengalu-alukan kehadiran Menteri Pertahanan itu adalah Panglima Angkatan Tentera (PAT), Jeneral Tan Sri Affendi bin Buang TUDM, Panglima-Panglima Perkhidmatan, barisan Pegawai Kanan Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) serta staf Kementerian Pertahanan.
Seluruh warga Tentera Darat Malaysia mengucapkan setinggi-tinggi tahniah kepada Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan di atas pelantikan sebagai Menteri Pertahanan yang baharu.
At a press conference later, Mohamad was quoted as saying that he will continue with the implementation of the Defence White Paper 2019. As for other issues, Mohamad said it was too early for him to say anything on them. As I stated earlier as this was his first briefing at the ministry following his swearing in ceremony on Saturday, he cannot say anything much. As PM10 has stated that he wanted to reduce the number of his Cabinet, it is unlikely Mohamad will be having a deputy. Video below is the honour guard for the then deputy minister in 2014.

Another corporate figures at the helm of defence ministry. Can’t expect much
Not related to this guys, but the ABC has just reported that there is a good likelihood US B-21s will be based in Australia. There is even the possibility of Aus. getting its own B-21s, this is now seriously Australia is viewing the China threat. It’s very much like what they say: If you want peace, prepare for war. This is the most hawkish Aus has even been in my 38 years here.
Qamarul – “Can’t expect much”
Given that overall policy is unlikely to change or be revamped: what were you expecting?
Tom Tom – “. This is the most hawkish Aus has even been in my 38 years here”
Not sure if “hawkish” is the right term to use to describe Australia’s stance but the possible threat posed by China is also the most serious Australia has faced in a long time.
