SHAH ALAM: T7 Global Bhd’s subsidiary T7 Kemuncak Sdn Bhd has secured a contract worth RM74.6mil from the Defence Ministry. The contract is for a period of five years from Aug 5, 2024 to Aug 4, 2029.
T7 Global said it was awarded a Letter of Award for the supply, delivery, testing and commissioning of Airfield Surveillance Radar system, communication system and associated Air Traffic Management system equipment to the Royal Malaysian Air Force and Government of Malaysia.
It said this in a statement to Bursa Malaysia on August 26. The contract is likely for the tender which was published in July or August 2023.
Malaysian Defence post on the tender. It is likely that T7 Global’s subsidiary has beaten the incumbent, Zetro Services Sdn Bhd, for the new contract.
Another T7 Global’s subsidiary – T7 Marine Sdn Bhd – was awarded the contract to install a new CMS on KD Jebat announced in 2019. T7 Marine holds 40 per cent of the JV company while Marine Crest Technology Bhd and Indian firm, C2C-DB Systems Pvt Ltd, hold 30 per cent stake each.

We are capable of building our own Radar
Different vendor doesnt necessarily mean we will get a different radar set. Its possible T7 might offered the same system as Zetro did.
The possibility is always there but highly doubtful the vendor would have offered the same as a competing vendor. Especially given if the said competing vendor was offering something it has the rights to or something it developed; either by itself or with a partner. Note that Zetro had partnered with a Czech form to deliver ATC/secondary radars. Doubt the winning vendor had the same arrangement with the Czech company. What the winning vendor will deliver is probably something different to wha Zetro offered.
