SHAH ALAM: Singapore To Buy Four F-35s. Singapore will buy four F-35 Joint Strike Fighters for testing with another eight on option, says Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen.
From his Twitter account.
A Strong SAF protects Singapore and Singaporeans. We will enhance SG’s peace & security with more sensors & coastal radars to deter & detect potential threats, more watch towers for better coverage of SG Strait & unmanned vessels to patrol our waters.
A Strong SAF for 2030 and Beyond. @theRSAF’s fighter fleet of the future will consist of F-35s and F-15SGs to defend our skies. The new H225M medium-lift and CH-47F heavy-lift helicopters will replace the Super Puma and Chinook fleets.
The Navy’s four new Invincible-class submarines will be ready by 2025. The new Multi-Role Combat Vessel, will have improved capabilities, require less manpower, and have unmanned air and sea drones to extend its reach and flexibility against threats.
The Army’s Next-Gen Armoured Fighting Vehicle will replace our M113 Ultras from this year onwards. Another addition to the Army will be the Next-Gen Howitzers with extended range and greater precision strikes.
In Parliament, I showed this infographic of the Next-Generation SAF of 2030 and beyond. This full complement of air, land and sea assets will be able to defend Singapore for another generation
SAFTI City taking shape: A wired city, with greater use of simulation and detailed monitoring, to help our soldiers to learn better. It will have more than 200 buildings of varying heights and types when completed.
New training facilities in Shoalwater Bay and the Townsville Region in Australia are on track to being built under the Singapore-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. These larger training spaces will provide realistic training.
New NS Hub: A central facility that brings together all the services for the pre-enlistee, the NSF & the NSman. It will be a smart complex using modern technology for a seamless, user-friendly experience. Construction begins this year, ready by 2023.

We never able catch-up them interm of economy, defense n systematic...
Let's just focus what we really can afford.
RMAF plan to get used F-18 Hornet from either Kuwait or Aussie already dead?
Any latest news about this?
Reply
There was never a plan to buy Australian Hornets, Kuwaiti one remains pending.
The most interesting information from this is not all the F-35 and what nots.
IMO it is the SAFTI City
Although land is scarce, Singapore actually allocated almost all the land it has facing Danga Bay for military training. It will also build more than 200 different buildings there specially for military training. Not only it would be a training area, it can also function as a defensive position for any attacks through the 2nd link, it also can be a ready staging area for any push into Johore.
hmmm...the Fokker MPA and C-130 has a much biger replacemen i hear to be annuncing soon.
Lets go ahead with our planning..
We did buy the H225M before them so lets cheer for that
So rsn kapital ship surface combat force in 2025 to 2030 will be : 12 friget (6 MRCV + 6 improved formidel) and 12 lmv or large large corvete (4 more to replace 4 minesweeper). 24 ships excluding smaller boats like stealth attack boats and usvs.
I hope rsn will reveal the the surface attack module for lmv. I am aware. And it can take on a friget and destroyer.
"We did buy the H225M before them so lets cheer for that"
Not to be a wet blanket, but we did buy a heavy airlifter before them, and I'm not cheering that. Just don't like being competitive for the sake of it.
Not sure if it was the right thing to do, since the Nuris have plenty of hours left, we have many in storage and the upgraded ones serve us fine.
We should be asking ourselves why.

About 25% of land islandwide is allocated to training, but the western end (Lim Chu Kang) is the only Live Firing Area in Singapore for ground troops (other state land is also borrowed for training not involving live firing; Pulau Pawai is for RSAF bomb and cannon practice). It doubles as the Western Water Catchment Area and has a number of reservoirs.
The land was allocated back in the 1970s. First, Safti was established at Taman Jurong to train officers and NCOs. The area was dotted with villages and farms. At first, penalties for entering training areas were not enforced, but things changed after some civilians died while sneaking in (to sell drinks). The villages were cleared in stages.

The P-8 would be no surprise. The C-17 production line is closed, if a C-130 replacement is larger it would either be a stretched Herc or A400M.
Noticed a few things in the graphic:
The Primus is not present, replaced by a truck mounted system.
It was just announced the NGAFV will replace the M113 Ultra. But when the Bionix was introduced in 1998 it was announced that it would replace the M113 Ultra (some of which had the Rafael OWS.) Since then, all the OWS vehicles have been retired but some cupola equipped vehicles remain in service as Opfor pieces and for beach landings, as the Bionix is not amphibious.
The Mechanised Igla (based on the standard M113 hull) is not shown, but neither are the wheeled and ground mounted MANPADS.
The new mobile sph on wheels not replacing Primus but Fh2000 field howitzer. Primus undergo some form of mid life upgred i hear.
