SHAH ALAM: A total of 22 ships from 13 countries took part in the recently concluded Imdex 2023 in Singapore. Malaysia was represented by KD Lekiu at the Changi naval base. Interestingly, some of the ships will also take part in LIMA 2023 which starts this May 23 in Langkawi.
Among the ships which took part in Imdex are HMAS Toowoomba from Australia; KDB Darulehsan of the Royal Brunei Navy and PLAN were represented by ships, Chibi and Yulin.
Indonesia sent four vessels, three from TNI-AL KRI Dr Radjiman Wedyodiningrat, KRI Gusti Ngurah Rai and KRI Halasan as well KN Nipah from the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency.
Italian Navy was represented by Francesco Morosini while Japan send JS Kumano, the second of the Mogami-class frigate. US Navy was represented by LCS USS Mobile. Other ships include two from the Indian Navy, INS Delhi and INS Satpura and BRP Antonio Luna of the Philippine Navy.
Vietnam was represented by frigate, Tran Hung Dao while HTMS Pattani and HTMS Prachuap Khiri Khan came on behalf of the Royal Thai Navy.
As for the host, three RSN ships took part in the display at Changi naval base, namely RSS Sovereignty, RSS Steadfast and MSRV Protector. Patrol boat Whitetip Shark of the Singapore Police also took part.
