SHAH ALAM: Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat – the Army Air Wing – (PUTD) has issued four quotation notices to supply parts and spares for the MD530G light helicopters operated by the Rejimen 883 (ad hoc). The seven-day quotation notices confirmed what Malaysian Defence posted previously that the Army intends to maintain the helicopters themselves, at least for the time being.
Two of the notices are for the supply of aeromechanical spares and parts and similar items for the three-hundred hours maintenance period of the helicopters. The notices:
PEROLEHAN ALAT GANTI AEROMEKANIKAL UNTUK PESAWAT MD530G BAGI REJIMEN 883 AD HOC PASUKAN UDARA TENTERA DARAT
PEROLEHAN ALAT GANTI SENGGARAAN 300 JAM UNTUK PESAWAT MD530G BAGI REJIMEN 883 PASUKAN UDARA TENTERA DARAT AD HOC
The other two notices are for the supply of parts and spares for the 12.7mm heavy machine gun pod and the Dillon M134 minigun.
PEROLEHAN ALAT GANTI HEAVY MACHINEGUN POD (HMP) UNTUK PESAWAT MD530G BAGI REJIMEN 883 AD HOC PASUKAN UDARA TENTERA DARAT
PEROLEHAN ALAT GANTI SENJATA UNTUK PESAWAT MD530G BAGI REJIMEN 883 PASUKAN UDARA TENTERA DARAT AD HOC
It is also interesting to note that the quotation notices to conduct above-eight hundred hours maintenance for three Augusta AW109LOH (M81-01; M81-02, and M81-07) published in October last year was awarded to Aerotree Defence Services Sdn Bhd. Aerotree is more well known to provide training services to the Armed Forces.
The contract for 01 is listed at RM186,666.43; 02 RM137,505.16 and 07 RM115,262.41 by the Eperolehan website. Aerotree also won the quotation notice for the interior and exterior painting for seven AW109LOH with the unit that operates them, Rejimen 881 based at the Mahkota Camp, Kluang. The work includes the helicopters mentioned above and others including 03;08;09 and 011. No contract price was stated in the Eperolehan website.
Three other AW109LOH not stated in the notice are likely the ones based in Sandakan.
