PV fiasco and my mistake

KUALA LUMPUR: In my earlier post on the PV fiasco, Malaysian Defence mistakenly reported that the sixth ship of Kedah class will be in service by 2010.

After reading the Auditor General report again, Malaysian Defence realised that there was a chance that the whole project could collapsed if more funds were not given. The report did not say it but from my reading that the authors were not confident that the project could be revived even with the extra money.

Too much time and expertise had been lost for the last 17 years and we still do not have good ships for the navy. Isnt this good enough reason to cancel the planned project to build two frigates in Labuan and instead placed the technical burden and other risks on BAE Systems?

I apologised for the earlier mistake.
