SHAH ALAM: PAT visits BNS. The CDF General Affendi Buang conducted a tour of the Boustead Naval Shipyard in Lumut on Nov. 9. A release on the Armed Forces Facebook page stated that Affendi was accompanied by RMN Deputy Chief Rear Admiral Abdul Rahman Ayob and other officials. It did not state the reason for the one-day visit apart from saying that Affendi visited the yard where BNS had designed and build the LCS.
It must be noted that the Public Accounts Committee chairman Wong Kah Wah recently stated that the committee members would be visiting the shipyard soon as part of its investigation into the long delayed LCS project. Though I am not saying that was the reason the general visited BNS.
The ATM release
Apart from the release the Armed Forces also put up various pictures of the visit though they did not show a single shot of the various LCS hulls at the shipyard. There was a picture of the KD Kasturi (above) undergoing refit at the yard though it is unclear of its purpose as the release only mentioned about the LCS project.
Other pictures showed Affendi and delegation inside the hull of one of the LCS – which work had stopped since November 2019 as announced by the then Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu.

LCS? That word leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Look like this ATM facebook post has been censored and comment is no longer available. The KD Kasturi and those LCS interior photos have been taken down.
