SHAH ALAM: Panah Jaguh 2022. The Army’s Artillery Air Defence Group or Grup Artileri Pertahanan Udara (GAPU) conducted its annual live firing exercise at the air to ground range at Tanjung Logok, Kota Tinggi, last week. The five-day exercise officially ends on October 15 with the closing ceremony officiated by Army chief General Zamrose Mohd Zain.
From the Army social media post on the closing ceremony:
PENUTUP EKSESAIS PANAH JAGUH SIRI 2/2022
From the above we know that the GAPU’s very own 35mm anti-aircraft cannon and the Starstreak SHORAD system took part in the exercise though unfortunately, not a single picture of the firings was published.
Anyhow, the exercise also saw the debut of SGT Ventures Sdn Bhd as the provider of the targets used in the exercise. SGT Ventures won the tender for the supply of towed targets for the Army which was floated in March, 2021. The three-year contract valid from August 1,2021 to July 31,2024 costs RM15.2 million. Apart from the target towing contract, SGT Ventures has won various tenders to supply spart parts and various items for the Army Air Wing mostly for the AW109 LOH fleet.

Any news for IGLA and Baktar Shikan replacements?
None
I wonder who SGT Ventures Sdn Bhd's foreign partner is? Meggit Systems and its Banshees?
It is likely they just bought the target drones from them
Can you really shoot down an attack fighter with a gpmg?
If you are pretty lucky
No, idea
Hasnan - ''Can you really shoot down an attack fighter with a gpmg?''
If it's flying very low; if it's not too fast; if there's a window of opportunity [trees and buildings may get in the way] and if one is lucky.
What's interesting is the AA mount. Never seen that before.
