SHAH ALAM: Some two months after its started sea trials, MMMEA OPV1 is now in Lumut for live firing trials. The ship – built by THHE – berthed at the Lumut naval base today, Malaysia Defence was told. And thanks to Western Fleet command we now have a picture of the OPV at the naval base.
MMEA OPV project director First Admiral (M) Hamizan Harun is likely to be present at the LFT to be conducted from tomorrow onwards. He met with Western Fleet Command deputy commander First Admiral Fadhil Abdul Rahman today. It must be noted that the Bagan Datuk class NGPC also conducted their live firing trials off Lumut. As with the OPV1, the NGPC is equipped with the Aselsan SMASH 30mm RWS.
The post from the Western Command:
Temu Mesra!
As for the OPV 1, Malaysian Defence was told that the date for handover and commissioning is slated for October 27. It could even earlier, if all the trials are conducted successfully. Unfortunately, I have yet to be informed of the new name for the ship.

After this ship has been commissioned, let's focus our attention on the the other 2 remaining OPV still under construction. Let's forget the mother of all debacle for now, the LCS. Since it will not be ready even after 2050s. Should put a record on that, The longest Time to build a ship.
How about the other two OPV? Are they nearly completed?
Just name it KM Tun Apanama. Soon people will forget about its fiasco.
Wonder when will the remaining 2 units ready ? And still no news on additional helos and UAV for MMEA

Just name them KM Najib Razak and KM Zahid Hamidi for effect. Their exploits will be remembered even a
generation after we're gone.

History is always written by the victors, so one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. It depends on which narrative each individual rakyat subscribes to.
IMHO despite his flaws, in hindsight, Najib still is the last centrist reformer PM we had. The rest after him did not live up to their promises to say the least (except Ismail Sabri as he was just a bidan terjun).
Besides, Najib nor Zahid was ever a Tun. You dont go jailing a Tun right? (Hence why we never seen one in jail... or would have a particular one, if Najib had remained as PM).
Joe "IMHO despite his flaws, in hindsight, Najib still is the last centrist reformer PM we had"
During his time US politicians too was trying hard to delay the inadvertable of naming PRC as US nemesis.
Time had changed and even if he was PM today he wouldn't be a 'centralist' anymore.

No, I beg to differ. Najib was an abject populist, just like Our Dear Leader, PMX. His policies endeared him to many staunch followers, just like PMX. IMHO,...The last great centrist was Pak Lah, God Bless His Soul!
