KUALA LUMPUR: Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS (Kongsberg) was today awarded the Letter of Acceptance for the contract to purchase the NSM for six LCS under the construction.
The LOA was handed over to Kongsberg at DSA 2018 today (Apr. 18). Malaysian Defence had previously confirmed the deal earlier this month. The Defence Ministry did not announced the number of missiles to be bought or the cost. However, Kongsberg in a release stated that the deal is worth Euros $124 million (RM597 million)
The release
Kongsberg announced today it has entered into contract worth Euro 124M with the Royal Malaysian Navy for delivery of the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) to their six new Littoral Combat Ships.
Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd is building the ships based on Naval Group’s Gowind Class design. This contract is a follow-on to the agreement announced 9 April 2015 for NSM shipboard equipment.
The NSM will be deck mounted and integrated to the SETIS combat management system provided by Naval Group.
“This contract provides the Royal Malaysian Navy with an important surface-to-surface-missile capability and confirms NSM’s very strong position in the international market. NSM is currently chosen by Norway, Poland, Germany and Malaysia”, says Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS.

Great!
Looking at the cost, it is quite a substantial number of missiles to be procured.
Sekadar pertanyaan org awam..

It will depend on how many missiles to be bought as well

It will include training, test/support equipment, documentation; as well as missiles. I doubt we bought much more missiles than the number needed to arm the 8 launchers in every ship.

Most of the other stuff you mentioned had paid for by BNS when they signed the contract for launchers and other associated equipment including integration with the SETIS. The contract today is onlyfor missiles, which a Government Furnished Equipment. Yes they may pay for packing and others.
