SHAH ALAM: In a previous post, Malaysian Defence wrote that the tender for 18 NVGs for use in northern Semenanjung, Sabah and Sarawak were cancelled. The tender was initially published as quotation notices by the Ordnance Group.
Now a tender for NVGs- 86 units – has been published by the Defence Ministry’s Procurement Division on Eperolehan on May 23 and closes on June 13. According to the tender notice, the NVGs are an important asset and equipment for the Army. Unfortunately, there is no price estimate for the tender. Based on the previous NVG order, I estimate that the bids should be around RM2.3 million or lower. I stand to be corrected of course.
The public portion of the specifications:
The Special Service Units, Infantry Battalions, and Combat Support Units such as Armoured, Engineer and Artillery Regiments are required to conduct operation during day and night. To enable them to conduct night operation effectively, there is a need for these units to be equipped with night vision goggles. It shall be able to be used for land, air or maritime operations
Despite citing the importance of the NVG for operations, the numbers sought are only eighty-six. That said the previous order for NVGs was for 253 units which were tendered out in 2020. The LOA of RM17.5 million was issued to Shafleena Venture Sdn Bhd. This is likely those NVGs delivered last year.
Another ten NVGs were ordered for the Armed Forces Headquarters via two separate notices which were published in September last year. The RM355,000 LOA for both was awarded to Inversys Corporation Sdn Bhd. These are likely meant for the Armed Forces Special Operations Division or BOPKP.

How "recent" is that pic anyway, with old ktm train and 1Malaysia logo on the train body
It was earlier this year actually, of course they brought in the oldest train engine and cabins to boot just in case the soldiers start breaking things...
Has anyone seen the GGK episode on Netflix? I thought it was quite good!
Unfortunately, I do not subscribe to Netflix.
@Tom Tom
Yup, but that ryan guy probably hate us now because he was arrested at the airport
It was his fault really.
I guess I was correct that the previous tender was cancelled because for just a handful there was no interest and maybe this large order will draw more bidders to the table?
