SHAH ALAM: Deputy IGP DS Acryl Sani Abdullah has been appointed as the new IGP effective on May 4, the Home Ministry announced on April 30. He is the 13th IGP of the PDRM. Acryl Sani, 60, replaces retiring TS Abdul Hamid Bador,62.
Acryl Sani served mostly in the Criminal Investigation Department after his was appointed as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on February 2, 1986, according to his biodata issued by the ministry. His predecessor was attached with the Special Branch like most of the previous IGPs,
The change over ceremony for the post is scheduled to be conducted on May 3, according to the ministry.
