SHAH ALAM: Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) – the Armed Forces Fund Board – has appointed former Chief of Defence Force TS Azizan Ariffin as its new chairman and Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi as its new chief executive, effective on April 1.
LTAT made the announcement today. Ashraf – who was the LTAT chief financial officer since March 2020 – was made the acting CEO on February 27, following the resignation of Ahmad Nazim Abdul Rahman, on January 31.
Azizan replaced Defence Ministry secretary general DS Isham Ishak who was made the acting LTAT chairman on February 27. LTAT was left leaderless in early February following the resignations of Nazim and the then chairman TS Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed.

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 March 2024 – Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (“LTAT”) is pleased
to announce the appointment of General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azizan bin Ariffin RMAF (Retired)
as its new Chairman, and Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi as its new Chief Executive, effective
1 April 2024.General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azizan brings with him a wealth of experience and leadership
acumen, having served with distinction in the Malaysian Armed Forces for 40 years. His
illustrious career includes holding the positions of Chief of Air Operation and Deputy Chief of
Air Force, culminating in his appointment as the 15th Chief of Air Force. Subsequently, General
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azizan made history by becoming the first 17th Chief of Defence Force from
the Royal Malaysian Air Force.His extensive background in military affairs, diplomacy, and leadership development will be
instrumental in guiding LTAT towards its strategic objectives and enhancing its role in
supporting the welfare of our armed forces personnel and their families.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Ashraf assumes the role of Chief Executive following his tenure as
Chief Financial Officer of LTAT since March 2020. During his tenure, he demonstrated
financial stewardship, spearheading the organization’s financial strategies and ensuring fiscal
responsibility. His leadership contributed to the organizational transformation agenda,
resulting in the recovery of dividend levels to a sustainable rate, enhanced financial position
as well as improved operational effectiveness.Mohammad Ashraf commenced his career in Europe, training as an accountant with Ernst &
Young before completing his stint with UBS Investment Bank. Upon returning to Malaysia,
Mohammad Ashraf developed his expertise in capital markets with Prokhas Sdn. Bhd., an
advisory firm wholly-owned by the Ministry of Finance, eventually leading to Ahmad Zaki
Resources Berhad (AZRB), where he initially served as Head of Corporate Finance before
rising to the position of Chief Financial Officer.General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azizan attended the Basic Flying Course in Australia and qualified
to become a Royal Malaysian Air Force pilot on July 7, 1977. He is a graduate of the Air
Command and Staff College (USA) and the National Defence College (India).
Mohammad Ashraf holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the University Tenaga
Nasional, is a member of the Association of Chartered Accountants and is a Chartered
Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

a fighter pilot and an accountant leading LTAT. let see if LTAT still will lose money or not....
Not surprising its an ex military chief but hopefully unlike his predecessors, he has the ability to get LTAT back in shape again or else this Govt will have a whole lot of unhappy pensioners on top of the many unhappy things currently churning around.
