SHAH ALAM: Mal-Tel Technology Sdn Bhd, a company based in Cheras, Selangor, has been awarded the LOA of RM4,501,096.00 to supply and deliver body-worn cameras (BWC) and the related accessories for the MMEA. The LOA result was published on the Finance Ministry tender page on March 6.
As usual it is unclear what kind BWC to be delivered, though. It could be the same as the five BWC gifted by Bank Simpanan Nasional to MMEA in July 2023. The cameras are used by MMEA personnel assigned as security escorts for money shipment to Pulau Tioman from the mainland.


Following the delivery of the BSN gifted BWC, MMEA announced that its personnel in the field will be equipped with the cameras as part of its efforts to boost the integrity of its maritime operations. The 21-day tender for the BWC was published on November 11, last year. The indicative cost for the tender is RM4,999,990.00


The specifications of the tender call for the supply of 763 BWC; 71 Docking Station and Charging Hub; Data Collection Station, 32, and three servers. Some of the specifications:
BWC. Tt is body camera that officers of the Malaysian Maritime
Enforcement Agency (MMEA) use while performing daily duties in the
field, such as boarding and tactical operations to improve integrity
among the officers. This contract covers the supply of 763 BWC sets for
APMM. Each BWC set should be equipped with a harness strap, micro
SD 256GB and extra batteries. The distributions of 763 BWC sets as

Video Resolution: 1920x1080p @30fps or better
The Docking Station and Charging Hub will be used to charge the
BWC battery as well as automatically transfer encrypted video with voice
recording data into the Video Management Software (VMS) via Data
Collection Station and stored recorded footage in the HDD storage.The

The Docking Station And Charging Hub supplied must have the

multi-slot/dock to connect a minimum of 8 BWC or equivalent / better for
simultaneous charging and downloading of records
The Data Collection Station will be connect to Docking Station and
used as a video management tool tools with function through a
web-based browser and web-based mapping, and supports concurrent
and perpetual licenses, or open sources and can receive BWC video

The Data Collection Station supplied must have the following minimum
specifications: 3.2 Operation System: Support windows or linux or
open-source operating systems based and provided Web-based
Browser, or Web-based Services, or better.
The server will install to the Data Collection Station and computer
that is already available in the APMM office at Headquarters APMM. The
tenderer must provide 3 server. This server will link to MyGov*Net
networking and for future will ready to link and support with MCGNet
networking
Apart from the MMEA, PDRM has introduced the BWC for its personnel since October 7, last year.
