SHAH ALAM: RMAF Mig-29N – tail number M43-14 – has been officially disposed off by the service and it will be put up as one of the monuments at the Dataran Pahlawan Negara, Putrajaya. The Fulcrum will join other monuments at the site which is now the official site for celebrating Warriors Day.
Among the other monuments at the square are Sea Wolf missiles, two 40mm Bofors guns, a single Scorpion light tank, a Stormer AFV and two 105mm guns. It is unclear when the Fulcrum will be mounted at the square though.
Warriors Day was previously held at Tugu Negara in Kuala Lumpur, but it was replaced by the Dataran Pahlawan following an edict that the statues at the former was contrary to Islam, the official religion of the Federation.
The hand-over ceremony for the tail number 14 was signed at the Kuantan airbase today.

The first Fulcrum to be a gate guard is M43-06 which is now at the Joint Force Headquarters camp in Kuantan. With the second Fulcrum, it is likely the rest of the fleet will also be sent out as gate guards as well.

There use to be a 25 Pounder and a All 3 with its 20mm cannon at Muzium Negara. MINDEF had/has a M102 in chrome as a Gate guard. PUSMAS has a LIMBO [from Rahmatw]; a 20mm mount [from one of the Perkasas]; a Seawolf and Aspide. Have not been to the RMN museum but it has the Squid launcher from the 1st Hang Tuah. No idea what we did with the Bofors 375mm; Emerlecs and Cresiout Loire 100mm mounts; whether they're in the museum.
If anyone asks; selling the Nuris and Fulcrums abroad is a slim possibility; both are not exactly rare. Shame though we didn't preserve one of the Perkasa FPB and its SS11s and torps.
