SHAH ALAM: The Defence Ministry has issued a MTO tender to deliver eight Airport Rescue Fire Fighting Vehicle (ARFFV) for RMAF. The eight vehicles will be shipped from Port of Savona in Italy to Subang airbase material depot.
The eight ARFFV is manufactured by Magirus Italy at its plant in Breschia. It is unclear which Magirus vehicle procured though as the company produced two airport fire-fighting tenders, the Dragon and Impact. Both are available in different variants from 4X4, 6X6 and 8X8.
RMAF fire and rescue flights operated both the 4X4 and 6X6 fire tenders so it is difficult to say which version of the Migarus vehicles were procured. The tender for eight ARFFV was published in 2021 and the public specifications did not reveal any details apart from the numbers being sought.
The LOA for the procurement was awarded to Artabara Teknik Sdn Bhd with a contract price of RM28.2 million. From Artabara website:

RMN procured two Rosenbauer fire tenders for its Bomba unit at the Lumut airbase in 2021.
