SHAH ALAM: Former Defence Intelligence Staff Division director general Lt. General (rtd) Sheikh Mokhsin Sheikh Hassan has been fined RM70,000 after he pleaded guilty to a single charge of corruption on May 6. From Free Malaysia Today.
Sessions Court Judge Suzana Hussin meted out the sentence against the former director-general of the defence intelligence division at the defence ministry, Lt-Gen (Rtd) Sheikh Mokhsin Sheikh Hassan, 60, after he changed his plea to guilty at the mention of the case.
On the first count, the accused was fined RM55,000 or six months’ jail, while for the optional charge, he was fined RM15,000, in default three months’ jail. The accused paid the fines.
The court also ordered the money confiscated in this case to be forfeited to the government, according to Section 40 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.
Sheikh Mohsin also faced another seven corruption charges with two other military officers relating to another contract handled by the DISD. The amount of bribery in this case was almost RM2 million.
It is unclear when Sheikh Mohsin will appear in court for the seven charges, it is likely soon, however. As he has been found guilty by the Sessions Court, it is likely he will also lose his Lt General rank together with all his other benefits though I am not sure of the procedures. I am pretty sure someone will chimed with them however. Malaysian Defence has previously reported on the new DISD head.

He will loose his pension
If the corruption charges are related to his time in the Forces, he should have been court martialed, regardless even if he's retired.
I'm waiting for update on Jiwa Murni Road corruption case.
