  1. Just for discussion, there appears to be 9 SOFs in Malaysia from the photo:
    1. PASKAL, PASKAU, GGK.
    2. PGK and STAR.
    Who are the other 4?

  2. Tom Tom – ”there appears to be 9 SOFs in Malaysia from the photo:”

Some are ”special operations forces” and some are ‘special forces’; not the same.

  3. Slight difference; has to do with roles. Look it up. In our context the 11th Gerak Khas regiment is an SF unit but the 2 Commando units are SOF. The MMEA’s STAR unit would be a SOF unit. In the U.S. the SEALS and Green Berets would be SF units but the Rangers would be a SOF unit. Note the U.S. has a “Joint Special Operations Command”.

  4. Seals are not considered SF, they are SF. There is only 1 SF unit in the US and that\’s Army SF aka ODA aka green berets.
