Deftech Awarded DSP Support Vehicles Contract

SHAH ALAM: DRB-Hicom Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd – Deftech – has been awarded the contract for the supply of fourteen support vehicles for the Defence Disaster Logistics Support Depot, which tender was published in March this year. This was confirmed on the Eperolehan website on Saturday.

The vehicles sought are four units of one-tonne utility 4X4 vehicles; six 3000kg forklifts and four seven tonne GS cargo trucks. Unfortunately, the cost of the letter of award was not published by the Eperolehan website.

A seven-tonne truck from 31 RAD being used to carry flood relief supplies in January 2022. The truck is used to tow the 35mm Oerlikon gun in normal usage. BTDM

As reported previously,

the lowest bid price for the fourteen vehicles was RM3.819 million while the highest is RM7.196 million.

Only the result of this tender was published while the rest which were only published recently has yet to be decided.

Meanwhile, nine bidders took part in the tender for

the supply, delivery, testing and commissioning of six hovercraft fast interceptors for the Army, for a period of three years

PMX announced the procurement of the hovercraft at the presentation of the national budget last year.

Some of the specifications of the tender, which was open for 42 days from July 16 to August 27.

There is a requirement for Malaysian Army to be equipped with hovercraft. The hovercraft shall have good endurance to operate in all type of surface either shallow water, coastal area, sandy area,
swampy area or metalled road. It shall be able to accommodate at least ten (10) personnel complete with combat gear during all type of the operations. It also shall be able to conduct land, amphibious and Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW) such as Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations. It shall have good mobility to lift military personnel and logistics during the operations

From the bidders list, the lowest price was RM18.9.5 million while the highest was RM22.931 million. Based on the bid prices I am guessing that the budget is around RM21 million.
