Contracts and Nuri Handing Over

LANGKAWI: Contracts and Nuri Handing over. Nuri tail number M23-37 was officially handed over to the RMAF today marking the start of in service flight trials for the helicopter with the new digital cockpit.

NADI Group, the parent company of Airod Sdn Bhd, signed the proof of concept contract at DSA 2016 to breathe a new life on the Nuri fleet. And if the air force found the helicopter performed to its expectations it may lead to a new contract to upgrade the other 26 Nuri airframes which remained in charge with the TUDM. Some of these are operational and others are kept in reserve, and needed servicing before they can declared operational.

Meanwhile, the Defence Ministry signed contracts worth some RM3.7 billion on the last trade day of LIMA 17.

The contracts are (correct as announced by emcee)

Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd for four LMS RM1.17 billion.

Seicom Systems Sdn Bhd, equipment and infrastructure development for Armed Forces NCO programme (RM496 million).

ATSC, Sukhoi Su-30MKM maintenance contract (RM371.7 million)

Europrop International, maintenance of A400M engines (RM118 million)

Telekom Malaysia, Voice and Datalink service (RM50 million)

Maya Nilam Sdn Bhd, 3 year, Land Rover parts contract (RM32 million)

Pilatus Aircraft Limited, additional ceiling for the supply of articles and services
for PC 7 and PC 7 Mark II aircraft (RM27 million)

N.A.Z Medical Supplies Sdn Bhd, supply of medicine and pharmaceutical (RM26 million)

B.P Clinical Sdn Bhd, lab test services for the Armed Forces medical services (RM25 million)

Kemalak Systems Sdn Bhd, One A400M Part task Trainer (RM21 million)

GPB Corporation Sdn Bhd, School buses for Armed Forces children (RM43 million)

Maple Tricot Sdn Bhd, supply of digital camo for RMN (RM25 million)

Unconfirmed value of contract is for the training of RMAF technicians and LOA for leasing of IPVPN and other services for the Armed Forces C3I by Telekom Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Thales confirmed that it has delivered a H120 helicopter simulator to Kolej Tentera Udara in Alor Setar. The simulator which has been operational since late last year was part of the RM120 leasing contract with Gading Kasturi Sdn Bhd.

    Do you have any info on a navy open house this year?

    The Navy obviously has much to celebrate. On the flip side, open houses are not every year. It might be one of the last chances to see some of our ships.
