SHAH ALAM: The Defence Ministry has denied that the Armed Forces leadership has been sacked for mutiny for opposing the RM16.8 billion helicopter leasing deal.
Air Times News Network today reported that the ministry has lodged a police report against persons for posting the allegations on social media saying the Armed Forces chief and the three services chiefs has been sacked for mutiny. The post went viral two days ago.
Air Times quoting the Ministry as saying that it denied the allegations on the firing of the Armed Forces leadership and the transfer of the service chiefs in relation to the helicopter leasing deal. It stated that allegations were fake news
It further stated that the ministry had lodged reports with Multimedia Commission of Malaysia (MCMC) and the police to investigate the fake news.
Defence Minister DS Khaled Nordin, is expected to comment on the changes to the MAF leadership when he presented his New Year Message at the ministry tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Malaysiakini reported that MAF will have a new chief soon with the incumbent TS Mohammad Ab Rahman soon.
Malaysian Defence yesterday stated changes to the MAF leadership is expected on January 31.
