SHAH ALAM: Atlas and Flankers. Its not yet official but RMAF is sending the Sukhoi Su-30MKM Flanker and the Airbus A400M Atlas – to the Singapore 2018 Airshow, starting on Feb. 6 to 11. Although RMAF has not make the announcement yet, the aerial display list already included the Flanker as one of the participants.
As for the A400M, the airshow official listing does not included it yet but its an open secret that one of RMAF’s Atlas will take part in the static display.

From Airbus
Airbus boasts a strong industrial presence in the region and relies upon some 600 Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers across 15 countries. The Asia-Pacific region is also an increasingly rich source of partnerships for innovation, new technologies and digitalisation.
As the Singapore Airshow is Asia’s largest aerospace and defence event, it’s fitting that Airbus is to be the largest international exhibitor there. On static display will be the newly certified A350-1000 long-range passenger jet, an A400M Atlas military transport, along with the single-engine H130 and H135 twin-engine helicopters.
This will be the second time RMAF is participating with the Flankers and the A400M at Singapore Airshow though this time around it is likely that there will be three Flankers at the show.
With three Flankers, it is likely that one of the Flankers will be on static display with the other two prepped up for the aerial display though only one will fly daily.
In 2014, RMAF participation included an EC-725 on static display while two years earlier, the Smokey Bandits, the Mig-29 aerial display team took part in the aerial display.
As for the other aerial displays, they will include RSAF fighters in the 50th anniversary colours, RTAF JAS-39C Gripen as well as the Black Eagles Aerobatic team from South Korea and Team Jupiter from Indonesia.

Maldives again is in a state of emergency. A 15-day state of emergency is declared by the Maldives government. This is related to the court overruling a conviction on maldives former president, and ordered his release..
Would be a dejavu if PAC is to be deployed to keep the situation there under control.
On the Singapore air show
- would love to get more details on the Wing Loong I-D UAV
- any new offers for the TUDM MPA requirement?
- any news on TUDM LCA?

Only Wing Loong 1 and 2 are here and AVIC don't want to talk about the D model
Well the I-D model is interesting to me as it is said to be more capable and priced even cheaper than the existing wing loong I model. The wing loong II is bigger and more expensive with turboprop engines. In malaysia's case MALE UAVs would be useful to monitor chinese assets in south china sea other than in ESSCOM areas, so i don't think going for chinese UAVs would be okay for them.
What other interesting items AVIC is promoting this time round? are they promoting the FC-31?

Actually its the Wing Loongs they are promoting this time around.

Yes. A KAI T 50 went off the runway. Before that smoke can be seen billowing from the plane n it veered off the runway before bursting inyo flame. Apparently the pilot managed to egresd the plane n not hurt.
Its overturn at the side of the runway n charred from the fire
