  1. I knew it, we won’t get SH. But In 2020 i guess We Gonna Have Rafale or Typhoon soon Since the SH Will gonna out of production in 2019. BTW, Apart from M109, Does it means we are the First Export Operator of Paladin A6 Marhalim.

  2. With that amount maybe it’s for little things like support equipments, missiles, rifle accessories or others

  3. I suppose $2 million USD for each SPH, so the amount is very possible for SPH, but who knows? Javelin ATGM maybe??

  4. US$60 millions, a reasonable price to pay for some 30 units of refurbished M109?

We have to get back to that once it is confirmed its the SPH

  5. Is the contract for the MD530G not signed yet? I thought Hishammuddin said they shall be delivered this year.

  6. We could buy 2 or 3 beechcraft 350 outfitted for maritime patrol….to replace the one that crashed. I think one cost about 12 mil without equipment. The planes could be outfitted later

Its cheaper just to fit the ISR equipment on the two Super King Airs already leased by RMAF

  7. Good to hear we’re bolstering our artillery force. Seems like we’re getting Nemo 120mm mortar as well as mortar carrier variant of AV-8 as well

Next is to get new 105mm gun as well as additional 155mm gun to complement g5

There are still discussions on whether we need both the towed 105 and 155mm or should just go with 155mm only.

  8. However the Super King Air are owned by Aerotree and its bankers may not like the idea of fitting something that may jeopardise its resale value in the event of loan default by the borrower.

And its new. RMAF likes new.

  9. Alex and Marhalim,

Speeking About 105mm and 155mm, M777 and M119 is the Good Choice but You know Money is needed.

  10. If the army want a cheap towed howitzer, South Korean Kh-179 is the answer. It costs around 300k to 400k per piece, and we can buy dozens of those without even breaking the bank

If it’s good enough for rok army, it’s good enough fo us

Actually we can buy dozens of M777 without breaking the bank also

  11. @Marhalim,

“There are still discussions on whether we need both the towed 105 and 155mm or should just go with 155mm only.”

I think it’s better that we should stick to towed 155 mm, since the M109A5 we are getting are also using 155 mm. Ease of logistic management.

  12. “If the army want a cheap towed howitzer, South Korean Kh-179 is the answer. It costs around 300k to 400k per piece, and we can buy dozens of those without even breaking the bank”

    KH-179 is a M114 with a barrel lengthened to 39 calibers.

It is cheap because it is heavy. I don’t know if the army requires a direct replacement of the M56, in which case it won’t do because it is not heli portable.

For this price, you also don’t get an APU, powered loading systems or a digital fire control system to help with self location and aiming.

  13. What on earth you talking about. Kh179 lighter than g5 and even lighter than fh-70. It’s even lighter than the m114 since the barrel is replaced and the shield is removed.

Even the m777 cannot be air dropped by our nuri and they were usually transported by chinook. if wanna say heavy then all 155mm gun is more than 5 ton (except prolly m777)

Better google for 5 minutes for answer instead of spewing lies

  14. Alex “What on earth you talking about. Kh179 lighter than g5 and even lighter than fh-70. It’s even lighter than the m114 since the barrel is replaced and the shield is removed.”

Are you high? You have no idea what you are talking about. KH-179 is a 39 caliber gun. It has no APU or powered loading. G5 is a with 45 caliber gun with an APU and powered loading. It will obviously be heavier than a KH-179.

In any case I never said to buy the G5 or KH-179. I said the KH-179 cannot directly replace the M56 if a heli-portable gun is is required.

Alex “Even the m777 cannot be air dropped by our nuri and they were usually transported by chinook. if wanna say heavy then all 155mm gun is more than 5 ton (except prolly m777)”

Again, I never said anything about buying the M777. The suggestion was from someone else and I also never said it would be a direct replacement for the M56.

Alex “Better google for 5 minutes for answer instead of spewing lies”

If you cannot keep track of who said buy what gun then maybe you should spend the five minutes to read again, Alex.

Alex “Kh179 … It’s even lighter than the m114 since the barrel is replaced and the shield is removed.”

Google will tell you that the KH-179 is 6890kg and M114 is 5800kg. What is wrong with you, Alex?
