SHAH ALAM: Bersatu Information member, Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegu Bard has been remanded for two days by the Putrajaya magistrate’s court to assist in investigations into his revelations of corruption involving a RMN official.

From Malaysian Insight:

Chegubard’s lawyer, Rafique Rashid, said police sought a four-day remand for his client, but the court only granted them two days.

“A four-day remand was applied for by the investigating officer, but after hearing arguments from both sides, the magistrate classified Badrul as an informant who should be given legal protection and cannot be subjected to criminal or civil action. The magistrate then granted a two-day remand,” he said at the court complex today.

Rafique said the Bersatu member was being probed under Section 203A of the Penal Code for giving false information, Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act 1972 (OSA) for wrongful communication, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for misuse of network facilities.

The revelations are published on his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, the Kuala Lumpur High Court today has ruled that the death of a navy cadet officer six years ago as homicide. From the Malay Mail:

KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — Naval cadet officer J. Soosaimanicckam’s death from an oedema in 2018 was the result of homicide, the High Court found today in overturning a coroner’s court inconclusive findings during the death inquest.

Justice Datuk Abdul Wahab Mohamed said the death was directly caused by the refusal of Soosaimanicckam’s superiors in the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) to let him seek medical care in a timely fashion.

  • now let's see this supposedly "bersih" government react when their own sin is on Rakyat's spotlight lmao

  • Whatever the case is, an allegation has been made and that in itself should be investigated. If this supposedly Bersih Madani government is THAT clean then they should be thanking Cikgu Bard for making the allegation public and not making his life a misery for revealing it!
    That's Fair Dinkum!
Or is this present government considered 'maksum' to the Nth degree?

  • Are we becoming more like North Korea? Trying to silence democracy & freedom of speech. I don’t think Chegu Bard will ever become Che Guevara that them government is so afraid of. Our ranking in media freedom will drop further as the government is actively silencing & arresting its critics

  • I would like to say "I told you so" but I did tell people so back in 2021 so... they shouldnt be surprised when we reap what we sowed.
