AS the new chief is from the submarine force, I hope that he will prioritize building up the submarine fleet for TLDM.
He is just acting chief, cannot sign off on anything.
@ marhalim
He is the acting chief from now until 2nd December only. From 3rd December onwards he will be the defacto TLDM commander.
It does not work that way, AFAIK. He is acting chief until he is promoted to four star and confirmed as the new chief by the King (who had signed off another guy to be the RMN chief on the advice of the minister, which was the reason CheGuBard was arrested). Technically, he can be appointed as the RMN chief right now but the powers that be decided not to do so. He will not be the chief by default, ie the date of the former RMN chief retirement date.
I stand to be corrected of course.
@ marhalim
my bad,
now i realise that we was not the timbalan PTL previously…
If the person that originally intended to be the TLDM PTL has a big corruption allegation against him, i am all for the acting chief to be the next PTL. Anyway looks like some parties really want this thing to be silenced. Will a current politician be dragged down along in this issue?
I doubt any politicians will be dragged down by this.
Unless the politician happens to be on the other side, which if he/she is a sitting MP even better, the next frog to jump over. Of course if he/she is in Team Madani everything will be silenced and the alleged personnel will be the fall guy.
β¦ – βIhope that he will prioritize building up the submarine fleet for TLDMβ
Even if he had the final say; a βbuild upβ of the SSK fleet also needs a βbuild upβ to be conducted in parallel with other areas in order for the SSKs to be truly effective. Nothing -,as you know – operate s in a vacuum.
…
From what I hear he’s not the preferred choice of the actual decision makers to be the next RMN head. He was the former Chief’s main choice but not the main choice of others who have the ultimate say. Just because he’s the acting head does not mean he will actually be selected to carry on.
